CAMDA 2007 Conference Call for Software DEMOS

CAMDA, a community-wide experiment of microarray data analysis, calls for your participation in 2007 in the Demos session. This session intends to be a forum where you can present new software or new features in already published/released software. This session will be held during the Thursday afternoon in parallel to the poster session:

  • Software presented in the demo sessions do not need to be new or original.
  • Authors are encouraged to reference the proceedings of the past three years (Methods for Microarray Analysis, volume I, II and III. Kluwer, Boston, MA. 2001, 2002 & 2003) for the previous contributions.

Demo Submission Format

An extended abstract is necessary for the selection process by the scientific committee. The extended abstract should include key results, figures, and tables. For software demos the abstract page limit is 2. If your abstract is not in this format your software demo will not be accepted.

Abstracts will include title (in bold), authors, affiliation and contact mail. Presenting author name will be underlined. Recommended letter type is Times New Roman pt12.

All software demos should be submitted electronically at the site: http://www.easychair.org/CAMDA07/

The deadline for submission is October 20, 2007. All submissions should be emailed to camda@cipf.es.

CAMDA Software DEMO Presentation Guidelines

Feedback of previous CAMDA attendees indicates the need for emphasis of biological relevance in addition to the data mining methodology. The submitted contributions are encouraged to include:

  • The proposed analytical objective (problems to be solved).
  • A brief summary of the analytical effort (the problem addressed by the software).
  • This may include the data preprocessing tasks such as data normalization, and data extraction, data mining steps and algorithms used, as well as the evaluation criteria.
  • Interpretation of results and presentation of discoveries in a biological context.
  • Discussion of the merits, assumptions, and limitations of your software
  • Conclusions

Questions concerning the CAMDA 2007 Call for Software DEOMOS should be directed to: camda@cipf.es.
